Prices of vegetable, pulses, chicken meat, flour and others have witnessed a slight increase in the retail market, said in a survey conducted by Business Recorder here on Sunday. The upward trend in price of chicken meat has continued in retail market, as available at Rs 142 per kilogram, which was selling at Rs 126 per kilogram in the previous week. A slight increase was also witnessed in farm eggs, as being sold at Rs 110 per dozen against Rs 100 per dozen in the last week.
It added the beef is being available at Rs 400-420 per kilogram against the official fixed price of Rs 240 per kilogram in retail market. Mutton is being sold at Rs 700-720 per kilogram. Likewise, prices of vegetable are sky-high in the local market as buyers complained about no check on increasing commodities rates. Tomatoes are being sold at Rs 60 per kilogram against the price of Rs 40 per kilogram in the previous week.
One-kilogram onion is being sold at Rs 40 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 30 per kilogram. Price of ginger has increased at Rs 200 per kilogram against the price of Rs 160 per kilogram in retail market. Garlic is available at Rs 100 per kilogram. Green chili priced at Rs 90 per kg. Lemon is being sold at Rs 120 per kilogram in local market.
Similarly, cauliflower is being sold at Rs80 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 60 per kilogram in the previous week, while cabbage priced at Rs 50 per kilogram. Capsicum is being sold at Rs80 per kg, arvi at Rs70 per kg, apple gourd, bottle gourd and ridge gourd prices range between Rs80-100 per kg in retail market, while bringle le at Rs 40 per kilogram.
Likewise, red potato is being sold at Rs 40 per kilogram while white potato available at Rs 30 per kilogram in retail market. Peas are being sold at Rs 150 per kilogram.
According to the survey, price of a one-kilogram good quality rice (sela) is being sold at Rs 150 against the price of Rs 160 per kg in the previous week, showing an decrease of Rs 10 per kg., while tota rice is being sold at Rs80 per kilogram, showing an increase of Rs 10 per kg in retail market.
Dal mash is being sold at Rs 140 per kilogram. Dal chana priced at Rs 120 per kg, dal masoor available at Rs 100 per kg. Likewise, the dal chilka (green) is being sold at Rs 120 per kg, while Dal chilka (black) was priced at Rs 160 per kg in the retail market. Moong priced at Rs 120 per kg.
A one-kilogram big-size white chana is being sold at Rs 150 per kilogram. Price of white lobiya increased at Rs 120 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 110 per kilogram in the previous week. Red bean locally produced is being available at Rs 180 per kilogram while Chinese red-bean priced at Rs 120 per kg.
Sugar is being sold at Rs 55 per kilogram. Gram flour (baisen) priced at Rs 120 per kilogram which was selling at Rs 110 per kilogram in the previous week. Prices of cooking oil/ghee of different brand/quality are remained unchanged in the retail market as available within range of Rs 150-170 and Rs 170 per litre/kg.
The prices of fruits have still costlier in the retail market. Apples are being available at Rs 100 per kilogram, mango at Rs80-100 per kg, grapes at Rs 100-120 per kg, guava at Rs80 per kg, banana is being sold at Rs 50-60 per dozen in the retail market.
