Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) MNA Haji Shuakat Ali said that the issue of block computerized national identity cards (CNICs) of people belonging to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar would be taken up with Prime Minister Imran, State Minister and Chairman Nadra shortly.
PTI leader while talking to reporters here on Sunday said that he would hold meeting with Minister of State for Interior, Sheryar Afridi and Chairman Nadra in the initial phase. Later, he said the issue would also discuss with Prime Minister Imran Khan for its amicable resolution.
Shuakat Ali said that the citizens of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Peshawar are being faced with enormous difficulties due to block of their CNICs. He added they were also unable to get passport in absence of the CNICs.
He regretted the previous government had shown negligence towards resolution of this issue and adopted 'anti-Pakhtuns' attitude, which has increased sense of deprivation among Pakhtuns. However, he said the incumbent PTI led federal government would soon end the injustice and discrimination with Pakhtuns. The PTI leader said if the Nadra was failed to resolve the issue and remained discriminatory attitude with Pakhtuns, then he would take up the issue with Prime Minister Imran Khan.
