District administration more than 40 constructions including shops, houses and markets during anti-encroachment drive in Sardar Colony, Charsadda Road on Sunday. On the directives of the Deputy Commissioner (DC), Peshawar, Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh the anti-encroachment operation was carried under the supervision of Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Shahid Ali Khan and Assistant Commissioner (AC) Sara Rehman.
The grand operation was participated by SDO Irrigation, Mumraiz Khan, Tax & Revenue Officer (TOR) Town-I Rehman Khattak, DSP Faqirabad Abdul Salam Khalid, ATOR Ayaz Durrani and representatives of SNGPL, PESCO and other departments at large. A heavy contingent of police was deployed to avert any unpleasant incident.
Talking to the media, ADC Shahid Ali Khan said that anti-encroachment operation across district Peshawar is in progress and in this connection the district administration has already demolished encroachments in Namak Mandi, Mathani Bazaar, University Town and others localities through heavy machinery.
He said that more than 40 illegal constructions have been demolished in operation conducted in Sardar Colony. He said that most of the encroachments during the operation have been removed voluntarily by the people. He warned the encroachment mafia in all areas of the district to remove their encroachments voluntarily otherwise, they will demolish through heavy machinery and stern action will be also taken against them.
