LG was not the only one showing off its incredible TVs at the CES 2019, as Samsung displayed some impressive technologies too including a gigantic 219-inch ‘The Wall’ TV.
At the CES 2019, Samsung exhibited its huge television which it calls ‘The Wall’. The TV isn’t just insanely huge, 219-inches to be exact, but also features a fancy display tech known as the microLED, which the firm says is at the heart of what it calls ‘the screen of the future’.
The Wall was shown off last year as a 146-inch TV and this year it just got a big upgrade. Interestingly, The Wall can be expanded and shrunk to different irregular sizes, thanks to microLED technology. Samsung believes The Wall can be an interactive screen that can fit in homes as a piece of art rather than looking like a huge black rectangle. The TV can blend in the background by displaying the textured material despite the shape and size.
Samsung also displayed its reasonable 4K 75-inch model of The Wall, which is a consumer-friendly version and contains the same Samsung’s microLED tech, reported Business Insider.
The modular microLED system tech gives the TVs sharp colors and ability for users to customize their own display to fit the space perfectly. The sizes even include irregular ones like 9x3, 1x7 or 5x1 with the picture quality remaining crisp, as per Daily Mail.
Samsung has not yet detailed about the pricing and availability of the TVs, but are expected to arrive soon at some point in 2019.
Apart from The Wall, Samsung also displayed ‘The Window’ TV that can come in tall, narrow designs and also short, wide rectangular versions, and a 98-inch 8K TV. Different monitors, Samsung’s Family Hub Refrigerator, and Samsung’s Wi-Fi-connected Front Load Washer were also some of the announcements made by the company.
