PTI, Communist Party of China sign MoU

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) and Communist Party of China on Sunday signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) here Sunday to further strengthen links between the two parties. The document was signed by PTI Vice Chairman Shah Mehmoud Qureshi and the head of the delegation of Communist Party of China, Song Tao, head of the Communist Party of China's international liaison department, said media office of the PTI.
Talking to the Chinese leader, Shah Mehmoud Qureshi said both Pakistan and China enjoy excellent close relations which will be further strengthened. He said the scope of multi billion dollars China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) project will be further expanded after mutual consultations.
Earlier, the delegation of Communist Party of China met with Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi here at the Foreign Office. According to Foreign Office spokesperson, the Foreign Minister, while talking to the visiting delegation, said that China is Pakistan's close friends and a strong strategic partner.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan's government is committed to further strengthening of the Pakistan-China friendship. Foreign Minister Qureshi also told the Chinese delegation that CPEC is project of national importance for the development of the country and the CPEC project is the top most priority of the government.
"After consultations with China, the scope of the CPEC project will be further expanded so that the whole country will benefit from it", the Foreign Minister further said.
