AJK government may allocate Rs 10 billion for link roads: Haider

AJK Prime Minister Raja Farooq Haider Khan Sunday said that his government was serving population of the state without any discrimination or political affiliations. He made these remarks while addressing public and corner meetings in Hajirah sector.
He said government was aware about the importance of roads and communication sector and was paying special attention, adding therefore 542 km central roads, 580 link roads were being built while 455 km were being reconditioned. The government intended to set aside Rs 10 billion for link roads in the next budget, he added.
"Amendment was made in the constitution on Khatam-e-Nabuwwat, Shariat Appellate bench was set up while constitutional protection was ensured for Islamic Ideology Council" he said. His government also restructured Public Service Commission introducing NTS for merit and transparency, he stated.
Recalling the services of late K.B. Khan, the Premier said he was a wholeheartedly committed leader from the beginning and remained in parliament for long because of his popularity. He expressed hope that people would overwhelmingly vote for grandson of Khan and assured government would do all possible within its means for constituency-2.
Haider said "Poonch is land of martyrs, mujahids and ghazis who have a golden chapter of bravery and sacrifices in state history. Poonch's mother produced some great children who fought for democratic rights and struggled hard to serve their masses. Khan was one of them" he said. AJK ministers Dr. Najeeb Naqi, Mushtaq Minhas, Barrister Iftikhar Gillani and Dy. Speaker Sardar Farooq Tahir also addressed the public meetings and urged the people to vote in favor of Sardar Altaf Amir in the upcoming by-elections. Addressing the public rally, AJK Minister for Information, Tourism and IT Raja Mushtaq Minhas has said that PML-N government has fulfilled all the promises made with the masses in the last elections.
