Centre, KP making all-out efforts for sustained economic growth: Mahmood

Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Mahmood Khan has said that the federal and provincial governments were making all-out efforts for sustained economic growth both at national and provincial levels and stressed the need for cooperation by the international community.
The provincial government was working on a 100-day agenda and the UNDP assistance is crucial for putting on ground various developmental strategies including the tourism promotion and integration of newly merged districts of the erstwhile Fata, he added. He was talking to Country Director of United Nation Development Programme, Ignacio Artaza who called on him at Chief Minister Secretariat Peshawar. The head of SSU Sahibzada Saeed and others were also present on the occasion.
The meeting focused on mutual cooperation in different sectors in the province. The Country Director offered assistance for the government's reforms, implementation mechanism of policies in different sectors, the mainstreaming and integration of new districts, improvement of economy, promotion of tourism, water conservation and utilization adding that UNDP was closely working with the federal and provincial governments.
The UNDP was also launching a 13 million US dollars monitoring project of glacier milting and was working with the federal government on this project. The meeting agreed for further enhancing the level of mutual cooperation between the two sides. The chief minister welcoming the offer of the Country Director said that he had a strong commitment for the sustained development, prosperity and wellbeing of the people. We have taken large scale reforms in the province, and the assistance of the donors would be a welcome gesture.
