KATI voices concern over 48 hours gas 'holiday'

President of Korangi Association of Trade & Industry (KATI), Danish Khan has urged the Prime Minister Imran Khan, Finance Minister Asad Umer and Advisor for Finance and Industry Abdul Razzaq Dawood to take immediate notice of 48 hours gas "Holiday" in industrial area.
While expressing concern over interruption of gas and water supply to industry, he said that industry was already facing grave issues of higher cost of production and now interruption of gas and water supplies has created more hurdles.
Referring to a notification of 48 hours gas "Holiday" in industrial areas, he said that if the situation prevailed it would cause disastrous effects on country's economy.
Chairman & CEO KITE, Zubair Chhaya said that the reason for this interruption was given as maintenance work, but due to already shortage of water that the industry has been facing for several weeks has already disturbed the production, if this continues further it would hurt our exports and eventually the economy.
Senior Vice President Faraz-ur-Rehman said that PM Khan vowed to resolve production cost related issues of industry, we are hopeful but any progress in this regard is yet to be seen.
