KARACHI: Five ships, APL Miami, Maersk Columbus, Serentas-N, Clayton-II and Kriti Amber carrying containers, Coal, Bitumen and Diesel oil were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively during last 24 hours, said a report issued by Port Qasim Authority (PQA), here on Wednesday.
Meanwhile three more ships, Alani, Lietta and Globe Trotter carrying 136,190 tonnes coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.
A total of eleven ships are currently occupying PQA berths to load/offload Containers, Coal, Canola Seeds, Bitumen, LPG, LNG, Palm oil and Diesel Oil respectively. Out of them two ships, Bulk Cargo carrier Safie Victory and Container Vessel Maersk Columbus are expected to sail on Wednesday in the afternoon.
A cargo volume of 171,799 tonnes, comprising 142,482 tonnes imports cargo and 29,317 tonnes export cargo, inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 5,641 container (TEUs), (4,098 TEUs imports and 1,543 TEUs exports) was handled at the Port.
CV MOL Globe carrying Containers is expected to take berth at QICT on Wednesday, while two more Container Vessels Maersk Bentonvile and OOCL Washington are due to arrive at PQ on Thursday.
