The Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on Thursday removed Syeda Saeeda Bano from the post of its woman vice president. In a notification issued by FPCCI here on Thursday, Syeda Saeeda Bano shall cease to hold the office of the woman vice president of FPCCI, representing Women Chamber of Commerce and Industry (WCCI) with immediate effect and Nazli Abid Nisar shall hold the same office with immediate effect till December 31, 2018.
Needless to mention, the decision was made in compliance with the order of Directorate General of Trade Organization (DGTO) issued on October 23, 2018. The DGTO in its order directed the FPCCI to immediately notify the removal of its incumbent vice president FPCCI Syeda Saeeda Bano from the post and notify Nazli Abid Nisar as returned candidate for remaining tenure of the office because the status of the WCCI, Karachi East at the time of FPCCI elections 2018 was not determined and the acceptance of the nomination of the chamber was a violation by the FPCCI.
Therefore, the election of the nominee of WCCI, Karachi East on the women seat of vice president FPCCI for 2018 was illegal and declared null and void under section 14(3)(f)(iii) of the Trade Organization Act, 2013.
