Supreme Court (SC) on Friday sought the replies from federal government and federal ministry of production on non-payment of salaries to employees of Pakistan Steel Mill (PSM). Taking the notice of non-payment of salaries to employees of PSM, who assembled outside Karachi Registry of apex court, Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar asked the protesting employees to come inside the premises of court.
CJP ordered federal government to tell the court why the employees of PSM are not receiving their salaries. Meanwhile, CJP also ordered NADRA chairman to submit the report with the court about the termination of services of employees in this authority after he was informed that seventy employees were terminated from their services in Karachi region.
Representatives of terminated employees informed CJP that employees are being terminated throughout the country without any reason.
CJP directed NADRA chairman to submit the report with the court within one week about the termination of employees.
CJP also conducted the hearing on the issues related to human rights and called all the people protesting outside the court to come inside the court premises. CJP took up about forty six applications related to human rights including missing persons, occupation of lands and pending cases in the courts. CJP forwarded the recovery of missing persons' applications to Missing Persons Commission to look into the issue.
