Sindh Excise and Taxation department on Saturday claimed to have recovered a tax to the tune of Rs 8 million and checked around 12 thousands vehicles durinng its road checking campaign According to details, a road checking campaign was started from October 22 to nab tax defaulting vehicles, was going in full swing across the province and the department has so far checked 12 thousands vehicles and recovered Rs 8 millions taxes.
Around 4648 vehicles in Karachi, 3240 vehicles in Hyderabad, 1575 vehicles in Sukkur, 938 in Larkana, 814 vehicles in Mirpurkhas and 712 vehicles in Shaheed Benazirabad were checked while 511 vehicles were impounded and the documents of 969 vehicles were also seized.
Around Rs 2,033,682 were recovered as taxes and fines in Karachi, Rs 2,364,042 in Hyderabad, Rs 544,702 in Larkana, Rs 1,091,394 in Mirpurkhas, Rs 978,564 in Mirpurkhas and Rs 1,070,321 in Shaheed Benazirabad. Needless to mention, the road checking campaign would continue till November 1, 2018.
