The Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Thursday said the government is cognizant of the troubles faced by the general public due to closure of traffic; therefore, immediate steps should be taken for alternate routes and citizens should also be informed about it so that their problems could be minimized.
He said this in a high-level meeting, held here to review the law and order situation in the provincial metropolis and other parts of the province. The meeting pondered over different steps, to improve the law and order situation. The chief minister said that implementation of law will be ensured at every cost and law will come into action in case of any violation. Pakistan belongs to all of us and we will take every possible step to protect the life and property of the people along with ensuring maintenance of peace in the society, he added.
Sardar Usman Buzdar made it clear that providing protection of life and property to the citizens is the prime responsibility of the state and reiterated that this responsibility will be performed as an important obligation. "No one can be allowed to disrupt the daily life of the citizens," he added. He directed that every possible step should be taken to keep the smooth flow of life and there should be no hindrance in this regard.
The CM was also given briefing about general law and order situation and the flow of traffic in the province. Provincial Law Minister Raja Basharat, chief secretary, IG police, ACS (Home) and high officials attended the meeting. Moreover, the Punjab chief minister has congratulated newly-elected President of Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA) Amanullah Kanrani and Secretary Azmatullah Chaudhry.
Sardar Usman said that SCBA has always played an active role in supremacy of the constitution and the rule of law. He said the role of the legal fraternity is important with regard to provision of timely justice and their services in restoration of independent judiciary and strengthening of democratic system are also unforgettable.
