"The International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff team is expected to remain in Pakistan until next week for discussions with the authorities on a possible new programme with Pakistan." This has been stated by Spokesperson IMF Gerry Rice during the bi-weekly briefing.
"We have a staff team in Islamabad right now. We expect them to be there at least until next week for discussions with the authorities on a possible new programme with Pakistan. They will communicate at the end of that visit. So, that should be sometime next week," Rice added.
Replying to a question about the scope of the programme, Rice stated, "I really do not know, because the teams there are discussing it. But we should be able to shed light on that next week at the end of the mission. And as I said, there will be a communication so we'll make sure that gets to you."
