President of Pakistan Dr Arif Alvi on Saturday spent busy day in the provincial metropolis on Saturday as he held meetings with different delegations and met the PTI leaders. Alvi met a delegation of the PTI lawyers' wing and discussed matters of mutual interest. They apprised the President about issues faced by the lawyers and sought his intervention for their resolution.
They also requested for resolution of issue concerning LHC benches in different districts including Faisalabad. The sources said the lawyers must play their due role for rule of law and supremacy of the Constitution. The President also visited the residence of senior Punjab Minister Aleem Khan and discussed important issues.
Governor Punjab Ch Mohammad Sarwar, newly-elected Senator Seemee Eizdi, Member National Assembly Munaza Hassan and ex-MPA Mohammad Shoaib Siddiquee were also present. On this occasion, Aleem welcomed the President on his first tour to Lahore and apprised him about the upcoming local bodies system in Punjab. He also discussed the 100 days plan and success achieved in the encroachment drive in the province. In addition to the matters of mutual interest, success of both PTI Senators in Punjab also came under discussion.
Moreover, Advisor to Chief Minister Punjab Aun Chaudhry also hosted a reception in the honor of Alvi who visited his residence along with Governor Punjab Ch Muhammad Sarwar. MPA Ch Muhammad Amin and other senior party leaders were also present on this occasion.
President Dr Arif Alvi lauded the role of Aun Chaudhry for his efforts to achieve the dream of real democracy in the country as he has been given important responsibilities in the province for completion of the vision of Prime Minister of Pakistan. The President hoped that Punjab will progress in the real sense in all aspects of life under the supervision of best selected team of Imran Khan.
