Sindh Police on Thursday claimed to have arrested as many as 2561 people, including 1723 drug dealers and 102 proclaimed offenders (POs) in various parts of the province.
According to a report released by Central Police Office (CPO) Director Press, around 1610 FIRs have been registered and 1723 drug dealers have been arrested during raids conducted in parts of the province from November 12 to 18.
Similarly, around 102 proclaimed offenders (POs) and 180 absconders were also nabbed by the police from different districts of the province from November 18 to 21.
One kilogram of heroin, 5Kg hashish, 642Kg chars, 21Kg opium, 48,000 chewing tobacco (gutka), 9021Kg mainpuri, 1087 Kg betel nuts, 207 Kg mawa, 35 bottles of imported wine and some 135 local wine bottles were recovered from the possession of arrested criminals during the course of actions. The anti-crime raids were conducted on directives of the Inspector General of Police Dr Kalim Imam, the report said.
