The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Tuesday sought replies from the federal and provincial governments by December 15 on two identical petitions seeking restoration of demolished walls of the Governor House. The petitioners Ahmed Khalid and Amina Malik through their counsel pleaded that the LHC had stayed demolition of walls of colonial era building but the some portion of the boundary walls were razed down before the LHC order.
The court questioned as to how the walls could be bulldozed without the approval of local government. The petitioners asked the court to direct the Punjab government to erect the boundary walls of Governor House again and register criminal cases against the concerned officials.
