CBOT wheat eases on weak export demand

09 Dec, 2018

Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT) wheat futures eased on Thursday on concerns about weak export demand as cheap supplies from rival Black Sea region suppliers continue to undercut demand for US shipments, traders said. CBOT benchmark March soft red winter wheat settled 2-1/2 cents lower at $5.15-1/2 per bushel. Spot December fell 9-1/4 cents to $5.05-1/4 a bushel, pressured by heavy deliveries against the contract.
K.C. March hard red winter wheat ended 2-1/2 cents lower at $4.95-1/2 a bushel and MGEX March spring wheat fell 6-1/4 cents to $5.69-1/4.
