Boeing expects Indian airlines to spend some $320 billion on 2,300 new aircraft over the next 20 years as passenger numbers soar, the US giant said Wednesday. "The Indian economy is projected to grow by nearly 350 percent over the next two decades to become the third largest economy in the world," the firm said in a statement.
Boeing said that the main driver of growth in the airline sector will be low-cost airlines, meaning that more than 80 percent of all new aircraft deliveries in India will be single-aisle models.
