HR violation in IHK: AJK President for formation of inquiry commission

21 Dec, 2018

President Azad Jammu & Kashmir Sardar Masood Khan said on Thursday that an inquiry commission should be constituted in line with the recent report of the UN Human Rights Commission against the violation of human rights in the Indian-held Kashmir. Speaking at a function, he said the recent statements of Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi on Kashmir issue are a big source of consolation for the Kashmiris on both sides of the border. The issue is being raised formally before the international community. Pakistan is a staunch supporter of peace and wants to resolve this issue peacefully. "We believe in politics and diplomatic talks. Victory is our destination because we are on the right path."
He said there are four parties to the issue of Kashmir, including Pakistan, India, Kashmiris and the UN. The Kashmir issue should not be restricted to Islamabad and Delhi. He said a report has been issued in India, pointing out that 240 Kashmiri militants have been martyred this year. "Did India deploy 700,000 military troops in Kashmir to kill a few hundred freedom fighters?" he questioned.
He said India has failed to meet his ulterior objectives despite killing Kashmiris, making efforts to change the proportion of population and trying to divide the Kashmiris politically. He said hundreds and thousands of Kashmiris have been martyred since 1990 and thousands have been disappeared.
