The Private Schools Association on Thursday contradicted the claims made by Minister of State for Interior Shehryar Afridi that 75 percent students in private schools are drug addict. Speaking at a presser, representatives of Joint Action Committee Private Schools Association Islamabad claimed that the number of smokers in educational institutions is negligible.
Zafran Ilahi said that minister's statement about female students' drug addiction is baseless and tantamount to destroy the educational system. This statement will negatively affect the education system. If 75 percent of 0.9 million are drug addicted what remains behind, said the official, adding that they condemned the minister statement. The statement was based on bogus data collected in 2016, said the representative while urging that standing committee should summon the Interior Minister and question about his statement.
They also appealed the Prime Minister to take action against the bogus survey. They also lamented the statement while saying that young educated generation should not be disgraced in such a way.
