King Abdullah University signs MoU with KCD

King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST), Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed MoU with Khyber College of Dentistry. In this connection, Professor Dr Charlottee A E Houser of the KAUST visited Khyber College of Dentistry (KCD), according to official statement issued here on Thursday.
Both the sides signed MoU to share a common goal to advance science and technology through bold and collaborative research and education, while addressing challenges of national, regional, and global significance. Dr Charlottee delivered a lecture to the faculty and Trainee Medical Officers on self-assembly of Tetra peptides into Nano Particles and their applications in 3-D Cell cultures for Tissue Engineering. Tissue Regeneration means the re-growth of a damaged or missing organ part from the remaining tissue.
It is emerging as a vibrant industry with a huge potential market. Through the utilization of world-class core facilities and personnel at both KAUST and KCD, research can be brought to international level. KAUST and KCD intend to work together for their mutual benefit in the field of "Regenerative Dentistry and Regenerative therapies for Maxillofacial Pathology using collagen-mimetic peptide scaffolds for Tissue Engineering and 3D Bioprinting". KAUST and KCD have agreed to develop their collaborative work by facilitating exchanges of academic staff and students, hosting the other party's academic staff and students as departmental visitors, exchanging relevant non-confidential publications, exploring opportunities for collaborating on funded research programmes, exchanging relevant non-confidential materials, subject to appropriate agreements, Inviting the other party to attend relevant conferences.
Such attendance would be at the expense of the attending party unless separate funding had been secured for the purpose.
