The Supreme Court of Pakistan on Tuesday issued contempt notices to Provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and others for constitution of a commission without prior approval of the court and directed them to respond to the contempt notices within two days. The Chief Justice showed annoyance over the formation of the board and dissolved it again. The CJ said: "The board was notified without the court's approval which tantamount to contempt of court."
The CJ got furious over formation of new board and hinted at summoning the Chief Minister Punjab also. The CJP observed that the board should comprise of the best stuff but they have dished out seats to the blue-eyed ineligible persons. A former unconfirmed judge of the high court has also been included in the board whereas rules disallowed his induction, the Chief Justice added.
The CJ further expressed his 'disappointment' towards Dr Yasmin Rashid and said: "We had a lot of expectations from you. What kind of people have you appointed as members of the board?"
