Christmas celebrated with religious fervour

Like other parts of the country, the Christian community Tuesday celebrated Christmas across the province of Punjab with religious fervour and enthusiasm. Special Christmas services were held in the main churches across the province on Tuesday morning. The Christmas messages were disseminated at these services. Special prayers were also offered for the progress and prosperity of Pakistan.
The churches as well as the homes of the Christian community have been decorated and Christmas trees have also been installed. Special feasts as well as family get-together have also been arranged for the Christmas day. The police also adopted foolproof security at churches and recreational places. A large number of Christians along with their family members visited recreational places like parks, zoos and cinema houses to celebrate happiness of Christmas.
The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) also marked the X-mas by cutting a cake at the party office. PML-N Lahore President Mohammad Pervaiz Malik on behalf of party president Shahbaz Sharif cut the cake. Speaking on the occasion, Malik said that birthday of Jesus Christ is sacred occasion for the Christian community as well as for the Muslims and respect and honour of all the Prophets of Allah Almighty is our religious obligation and faith on Jesus Christ and all other Prophets is an integral part of Islam. He said that promotion of brotherhood, tolerance, harmony and love and affection is the essence of the teachings of Jesus Christ. He also lauded the role of Christian community in national development.
