Model Customs Collectorate (MCC) Gwadar has surpassed its custom duty target by 146 percent during the 1st half of current financial year. According to details, the Collectorate during first six months collected Rs 6465 million as custom duty against the target of Rs 4408 million, depicting 80 percent growth during preceding period. Moreover, the Collectorate Gwadar has collected Rs 10242 million including Rs 300 million realized through auction, recovery etc against the target of Rs 6979 million showing 47 percent growth.
During the said period, the Collectorate has seized 1.2 million litres (approx) of smuggled Iranian diesel, liquor, gutka, betel nuts, cloth, tyres etc worth Rs 530 million besides dismantling the operations of illegal petrol pumps situated in main Hub city. Meanwhile, Collector Gwadar Muhammad Yaqoob Mako appreciated the efforts of the custom staff in surpassing the revenue target with a big margin and hoped that the MCC Gwadar would keep on playing the vital role in the economy of Pakistan.
