Terming 2019 as the year of fulfillment of promises, Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday said they will come up to the expectations of the people and the new Pakistan will become a reality in 2019.
"The year 2019 is the year of fulfillment of promises made with the people and the mandate of change will be honored," the CM said this while talking to different delegations at chief minister's office," here on Tuesday.
Sardar Usman maintained that a constructive and result-oriented strategy will be adopted to ameliorate the lot of the common man as well as to solve the problems faced by the people. Similarly, the journey of development and prosperity, which was started in 2018 with utmost transparency, will be accelerated with renewed commitment and passion, he said.
He regretted that basic necessities of life for the people were ignored in the past and precious resources were wasted on exhibitory projects.
The state institutions rendered bankrupted in the past and wrong policies compounded the problems of the people, he said, adding: "Our government inherited the devastated economy."
According to him, the PTI government has set a new example by introducing meaningful reforms in a short span of time. The era of hollow slogans is over now because the PTI government has focused on the provision of necessary facilities of life to the people.
He said that a comprehensive roadmap of durable development of the province and prosperity of the people has been chalked out by the government. The vision of Prime Minister Imran Khan is a guarantee of peace, prosperity and bright future of the country, he added.
He further said the country is moving in right direction under the leadership of Imran Khan and immediate resolution of public problems as well as provision of basic necessities of life is the main agenda of the government. The PTI government has adopted a policy of zero-tolerance against corruption and steps have been taken to promote merit, transparency and corruption-free culture, he said.
