481,660 people provided relief during 2018: DIG

The Punjab police have provided relief to 481,660 people through 36 'Khidmat Marakiz' established across the province for the facilitation of people during 2018. This was revealed by Deputy Inspector General of Police (Discipline and Inspection) Ahsan Younas while briefing Punjab IGP Amjad Javed Saleemi in a meeting held to review the performance of "Khidmat Marakiz" (facilitation centres) established across the province at the Central Police Office (CPO) on Saturday.
"According to details, from 1st January to 31st December 2018, more than 1.5 million people have taken benefits from IGP 8787 Complaint Cell while relief has been provided to 481,660 people from 36 Khidmat Marakiz. The Khidmat Marakiz had issued 254,615 character certificates, 148,433 employees verification, 29,349 vehicle verification, 22,788 entries of tenants, 15,409 loss reports, 4,926 copies of FIR, 3,976 medico legal certificates, 1,876 across district character certificate, 165 crime reports whereas 34 violations against women were also registered in these Khidmat Marakiz," the DIG informed the meeting.
The Khidmat Marakiz, he added, had issued 1,021,797 licenses including 680,623 learners, 2,21,441 renewal of learners, 89,564 renewal of regular licenses, 28,119 regular licenses, 1,176 international licenses whereas, 874 licenses were issued from other districts through integrated system.
During the meeting, the IGP directed DIG Ahsan to share all information regarding the complaints received through the 8787 Complaint Cell along with the redressal mechanism on daily basis. On this, Ahsan informed the IG that from 1st January 2019 to 3rd January, nearly 44 complaints of non-registration of FIRs have been received which now have been registered after quick action.
