One person was killed and four others injured when two religious groups clashed over possession of a mosque here in the jurisdictions of Baloch Colony police station on late Saturday night. The police arrested ten culprits involved in the firing. According to details, nearly 150 men allegedly from Sunni Tehreek and Tehreek-i-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) attacked the men from Deobandi group who were inside the mosque in Mehmoodabad area.
One person was killed and four others sustained bullet wounds in exchange of fire and were shifted to Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre (JPMC) where doctors pronounced one Kashif Hussain, 35, as dead on arrival. The injured persons have been identified as Yamin, 30; Adeel Afzal, 30; and Raja Hafeez, 44. Following the incident, heavy contingent of police reached the scene and arrested 10 people involved in clash. The police and Rangers were deployed in the area to maintain the security situation and avoid further untoward occurrence.
