Sindh Governor Imran Ismail has expressed willingness on behalf of the federal government to provide a fleet of required buses for the Green Line Project to prevent further delay in complete operations of this important project of public interest. "Sindh government was entrusted with the responsibility to procure buses for the Green Line Project but we continue to see an inordinate delay in the procurement process," he said during his visit to the project's construction site at Numaish underpass, where the officials concerned briefed him on the progress made so far.
The Governor reviewed the work driving through the entire route of the Green Line Project. He also planted a sapling there. Imran Ismail said Green Line Bus project in Karachi, mainly funded by the federal government, was heading to completion and would be open to public soon. He said the project would definitely facilitate the local commuters who had suffered due to immense traffic related problems engendered by lack of planning in the ever-expanding metropolis of the country.
"Adequate means of transport for the big city such as Karachi always remained a problem which exacerbated with the passage of time," he said, adding that: "However, the Green Line Project will not only accelerate the means of transportation but also reduce traffic congestion besides expanding social and economic activities in the city." He asserted that the project validates the federal government's commitment with the people on providing latest facilities to them without any discrimination.
