Chairman of China Overseas Ports Holding Company (COPHC), Zhang Baozhong has assured FPCCI delegation that he will recommend to the Chinese Government to waive 6 percent import duty for export industry setup in Gwadar Free Zone.
He was replying to Chairman Siddique Sons, Tariq Rafi who said that they will consider setting up industrial unit in Gwadar Free Zone for export to China if the 6 percent import duty is waved.
This was informed by President FPCCI Engineer Daroo Khan who led a FPCCI delegation to Gwadar Free Zone, comprises of members of industry, businesses and banking sector recently.
The delegation met Baozhong and a presentation was given by General Manager COPHC, Shahzad Sultan.
The delegation was informed that electricity will be provided to industries setup in Gwadar Free Zone at subsidise rate. Water will be provided by COPHC. All infrastructure will be made and provided by COPHC. Arrangements are being made for supply of gas to industries. The delegation comprises of Arif Habib, Tariq Rafi, Nadeem Riaz, Abid Sattar, Khurshed Zafar, Kalid Tawab and Tariq Haleem.
