A Pakistani High Commission official was arrested in New Delhi, kept under unlawful detention and forced to sign on some papers, Aaj News reported on Sunday. The Pakistani official was released after a strong protest lodged from Pakistan government that declared the arrest, detention and forced signing of some notes as flagrant violation of Vienna Convention.
However, the official had to spend several hours under unlawful detention during which he was forced to sign some papers. Pakistan authorities took up the matter with the Indian Ministry of External Affairs, lodged protest and made it clear to India that the former has every right to retaliate to any such incident.
