According to news reports, Pakistan and China have agreed to make 2019 a year of economic cooperation by promoting joint ventures, exports and industrial, socioeconomic and agriculture cooperation under the China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).
Pakistan desperately needs China's cooperation in the agriculture sector in particular. That China has made historic strides in this sector of economy, too, is a case in point. For example, China's agriculture is supporting a population of over 1.3 billion people today, compared to about 500 million in 1950. The tale of China's agriculture success is amazing. Pakistan must draw some lessons from it.
