Asfandyar calls for defeating mindset of terrorism

ANP's president, Asfandyar Wali Khan has said that for the establishment of durable peace there is no other option than defeating the mindset of terrorism. He expressed these views in message on eve of the third anniversary of terrorists' attack on Bacha Khan University, Charsadda. He has paid tributes to the martyrs of Bacha Khan University tragedy and said that martyrs never die and they remain in the hearts of nation forever.
The ANP chief said that it is matter of grave concern that despite passage of three years, the heirs of the martyrs were awaiting justice. He said the terrorists targeting the educational institutions established on the name of leader of the followers of non-violent, oppressed nations and leader of Pakhtuns knew that the ideology of Bacha Khan regarding non-violence and peace is creating awareness in the people. He said that attack on the institution named after Bacha Khan was in fact attack on peace. He said that we are bound to keep these teaching institutions atop of the priorities' list and give them honor and respect and give message to the world that we are the champions of non-violent struggle.
The ANP lamented that even after the passage of six months of the formation of the government; the government is till busy in political maneuverings and had left the people at the mercy of terrorists. He said that the implementation of all 20-points agenda of the National Action Plan (NAP) has become a dream, adding that ANP is repeating its demands in this regard, but getting no response from the governments.
Regarding Afghan peace process, the veteran politician termed the establishment of the environment of unity highly essential, saying Pakistan and Afghanistan should establish friendly relations to defeat the cancer of terrorism. He termed the recent efforts of dialogue between countries as welcoming and said that super powers are busy in competing each other in Afghanistan. However, if unite then the chances of peace can be further brightened. He stressed need for serious reform in the four decades long wrong policies.
