Chief of Jamaat e Islami, Senator Sirajul Haq, has said that countries were run not trough donations but through economic reforms but the present rulers were bent upon seeking charity instead of making reforms. While addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected office bearers of Paparyanwala Press Club in Mandi Bahaud Din, he said the government was happy over financial help from Saudi Arabia, and UAE but was not ready to abolish the interest based economic system which was the root cause of all economic problems.
The JI chief said the PTI government would be presenting its third budget within a few days whereas in the past, only one budget was presented in a year. He said new taxes were levied in every budget and the rates of the utilities were being raised which had added to the problems of the common man. The government had reduced the value of the rupee on IMF dictation due to which the value of the Pak rupee had fallen below the value of the currencies of Afghanistan and Bangladesh.
Sirajul Haq said that PTI economic wizards were worried and dumb as they did not know how to fulfil the tall promises made to the masses. He said by now, it was not clear who was running the country and who was taking decisions. He said that if the nation wanted to live, it would have to rise now. He said that the people in the government were the same who had been in the previous governments and nothing good is expected from them.
Referring to the Sahiwal tragedy, the JI chief said the government was snatching the right of living from the people. He called for a complete audit of all such incidents involving the CTD. He said the prevailing system sided with the tyrant and the killer, not the aggrieved. Therefore, there was no other option for the oppressed and the wronged people but to support an Islamic revolution and added that they would have to stand by the JI for this purpose.
