Opposition in Punjab Assembly on Thursday expressed dissatisfaction over the briefing given in the Punjab Assembly on Sahiwal killings and demanded formation of a judicial commission to further probe the incident which claimed lives of four citizens. While talking to the media outside the Punjab Assembly after in-camera session given to provincial assembly members on Sahiwal tragedy and progress regarding ongoing investigation by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) opposition leader in the Punjab Assembly Hamza Shahbaz termed the JIT 'wastage of time'.
He said that the culprits behind the Sahiwal killings will be found out through the judicial commission, calling the Joint Investigation Team 'a waste of time'. "The nation is anxious to find out what is happening... The seriousness of the government can be judged from the fact that the chief minister was not present in the Punjab Assembly session," he said. He also said that there should be no politics on Sahiwal tragedy.
"The day Model Town tragedy happened, Rana Sanaullah resigned from his post," said Hamza Shahbaz. Earlier in a Punjab Assembly session, Home Secretary Punjab Fazeel Asghar provided 'evidence' of deceased Zeeshan's involvement in terror activities. PPP parliamentary leader in Punjab Assembly Syed Hassan Murtaza said PPP rejected the JIT and demanded judicial commission on Sahiwal incident. He said PPP demanded FIR against Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar.
Later, Punjab's Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Fazeel Asghar briefed members of the assembly on the tragic incident.
