Qaumi Watan Party (QWP) Culture Wing, former provincial general secretary, Dr Alam Khan has expressed concern over shifting of the state-run, Pakistan Television (PTV) Peshawar centre programmes to Lahore station and urged the federal government and Prime Minister Imran Khan to take its immediate notice.
Speaking a news conference at Peshawar Press Club on Friday, QWP leader said that the shifting of local regional languages transmission and changing in their scheduled is a joke with Pashtuns and people, speaking other different languages. He said being a Pashtun strongly condemned it and the act will be resisted at every level.
Dr Alam said it is completely unjust to bring changing in timing and schedule of programmes, based on Pashto culture, which were broadcasting from Pakistan Television Peshawar centre for last two to three decades.
He informed that the Peshawar centre programmes is now broadcasting from 2 to 4 PM, instead of 5 to 6 PM. Due to which, he added the PTV Peshawar centre has turned into desert.
Therefore, he urged the Prime Minister Imran Khan and Federal Minister for Information, Broadcasting and National Heritage, Fawad Chaudhry and other relevant high officials to take immediate notice of it. He also warned that if the PTV Peshawar centre will distribute under name of reforms and changes, they will strongly resist it.
