Sindh High Court (SHC) on Friday disposed of the petition of former prime minister Yousaf Raza Gilani against Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) over initiating the cases against him. SHC's bench headed by Justice Naimatullah Phulphoto disposed of the petition of former premier after FIA told the court that there are not cases against him except the one related to Trade Development Authority of Pakistan (TDAP) scandal.
FIA told the court that investigation in TDAP scam has been completed and trial is underway in federal anti-corruption court. Former premier is not wanted anymore in any other case. Gilani had filed the petition in the high court four years back with the plea that FIA should be barred from initiating investigations in the cases against him and also prayed for dismissing the cases.
Federal anti-corruption has indicted in TDAP scandal and its trial is going on there. Yousaf Raza Gilani's counsel submitted in the court that his client wanted to withdraw his petition after FIA's statement of no cases against him except TDAP, at which court disposed of the petition.
