The Punjab government has decided to utilise land, recovered during the recent anti-encroachment operation in Punjab, for welfare projects. In this connection, Punjab Senior Minister Abdul Aleem Khan on Monday asked the Punjab Local Government Department to submit details of the recovered properties. He also instructed the department to prepare a strategy in collaboration with the revenue department on utilisation of these lands in welfare-oriented projects in different districts.
He also asked them to involve the parliamentarian in respective districts during this process and seek their consent. "The strategy for land utilization, once prepared, will be sent to the Punjab Chief Minister for final approval. To prevent recurrence of illegal occupation of these lands, each recovered property should be updated on Google maps," he added. Meanwhile, the Punjab government is going to hold bilateral dialogues with international donor agencies, including World Bank, Asian Development Bank and DFID, and brief them about the ongoing and new projects in Punjab.
Commenting on this, the Senior Minister said that international donor agencies will be informed about the future road map and strategies for Punjab.
