Deputy Commissioner (DC) Peshawar, Dr Imran Hamid Sheikh has said that Urumqi city of the Peoples' Republic of China and Peshawar have been declared Sister Cities and students' exchange between both cities is being started from next month. He expressed these views during a meeting with District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan, District Rescue Officers 1122, Sher Khan and Arif Khan, he said that the western gate of the Tehsil Gorgatt Tree has been declared Logo for Peshawar city and wherein the guests and foreign visitors will be gifted the monogram of the Logo of Peshawar city.
The Deputy Commissioner through presenting the Logo of the western gate of Tehsil Gorgatt Tree to District Nazim formally launched the Logo.
On this occasion, the District Nazim, Mohammad Asim Khan said that students exchange programme between Peshawar and Urumqi will start soon to introduce the culture of both countries among the students.
He said that for the identification of Peshawar city, there was a dire need of a Logo. He said that western gate of Tehsil Gorgatt Tree was the first office of the administration of Peshawar.
