Robberies, carjacking cases on the rise in capital

The federal capital witnessed an increase in the incidents of robbery, dacoity, snatching at gunpoint and motor vehicle theft during the last week. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, several cases of theft including robbery, dacoity and snatching at gunpoint and cases of auto theft were reported to different police stations of the city during the last week.
During the aforementioned period, most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Lohi Bher, Aabpara, Khanna, Kohsar and Industrial Area police stations. Over three cases of robbery and one of auto theft were reported to Lohi Bher police station during the aforesaid period. One victim Junaid Akhtar informed Lohi Bher police station that unknown robbers stole Rs 14,821 from his shop.
Similarly, one Khurram Ali Khan informed Lohi Bher police station that four unknown armed persons broke into his house and looted cash and jewellery valuing Rs 2.8 million. In another incident, Muhammad Safeer filed a complaint with Lohi Bher police station that unknown robbers stole an LED and other valuables from his house valuing Rs 150,000. The auto thieves stole a bike RIL-3013 of a citizen Yasir Gul valuing Rs 40,000.
During the aforementioned period, Aabpara police station registered two case of robbery and one case of motor vehicle theft. The carjackers stole a bike bearing registration number KR-512 of a citizen Malik Aftab valuing Rs 30,000. A victim Shahzad Mehmood informed Aabpara police station that unknown accused stole cash, an LED and other valuables worth Rs 270,000 from his shop. Another person Huzaifa Azam informed Aabpara police station that robbers stole a laptop, gold jewellery and other valuables worth Rs 400,000. Khanna police station registered three cases of carjacking and one case of robbery. The auto thieves stole a bike (RL-9545) of a citizen namely Zafar Iqbal valuing Rs 40,000 and lifted a bike AFL-148 of another citizen Zahid Ahmed valuing Rs 60,000.
