Chief Commissioner Inland Revenue, Federal Board of Revenue, Shahid Iqbal Baloch has said the department and the business community are the two wheels of a vehicle and the economic development can not be achieved in the country without cooperation among the stakeholders.
He said that the FBR wanted to create business friendly environment and bring maximum people in the tax net, urging the business community to cooperate with the FBR in promoting tax culture in the country. He expressed these views while addressing the members of Hyderabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry at HCCI secretariat, here on Wednesday.
Due to non-cooperation and non-provision of documents is delaying in deciding 36 thousand pending audit cases. The early decision on these pending audit cases could be made possible with the cooperation of the tax payers, he added.
He appreciated the cooperation of the industrialists of Hyderabad in respect of the sales registration, adding that the department has been engaged in verification of the manufacturing items in the industrial areas of Hyderabad.
President HCCI Muhammad Saleem Shaikh and Chairman HCCI Sub-Committee on Inland Revenue Turab Ali Khoja while speaking on the occasion briefed the Chief Commissioner about the issues being faced by the business community in respect of computerized audit selection, manual audit selection, refund, withholding tax, turnover tax, sales tax and double taxation.
