CSR / CSI Activist for Eradication of Thalassemia from Pakistan, Ateeq Ur Rehman has said that the deadly disease Thalassemia is erupting like volcano and large of children dying without proper medical support. He said that the Thalassemic centers alone cannot save lives of so many children which are beyond their capacity and without the help of government.
"We have to stop thalassemic majors coming to this world by advocacy and awareness", he said and added that the government of Sindh should seriously come forward for implementing the pre marriage thalassemia screening / test as mandatory. He urged World Bank to provide technical support and assistance to the government of Sindh for implementing and facilitating Thalassemia screening before marriage as ease of healthcare services.
He congratulated the Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah and the government of Sindh for inaugurating Ease of Doing Business - Sindh (EDB) conference 2019. He also welcome launched Sindh Business Registration Portal of Sindh Doing Business Reforms.
He quoted CM who said "These reforms are aimed at improving business environment and transforming Karachi into an easy, competitive and business friendly city in Pakistan and in region. Ateeq said that this is a big step by Government of Sindh but without implementation it is nothing as we are at the bottom of Ease of Doing Business whereas Kenya, Thailand and India leads in it among the Developing Nations. He further added that how can you progress without having ease of education and healthcare services. A sick man cannot meet any targets, whatsoever.
