PML-N leader Maryam Nawaz has expressed the hope that today's (Monday) decision of the Islamabad High Court would be in favor of her father Nawaz Sharif and he would be released from jail on bail. Maryam Nawaz visited Jinnah Hospital to inquire after Nawaz Sharif, and stayed in the hospital for more than two hours on Sunday.
Talking to reporters the PML-N leader hoped that the two member bench of the Islamabad High Court will suspend the seven year sentence of the ousted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in the Al-Azizia case till the final decision of the appeal against verdict of the Accountability court. The judgment was reserved on 20th February after competition of arguments of the two sides. Sharif had filed a petition in the high court requesting bail on medical grounds. Sharif is currently in Jinnah hospital after doctors recommended his medical treatment since past week.
Regarding PM Imran Khan's statement about spending millions of rupees by the government on Nawaz Sharif treatment, Maryam questioned when Imran Khan had spoken truth. She did not answer a question as to why Nawaz Sharif's angiography had not been carried out even after lapse of five days. Strict security arrangements were made during Maryam's visit to hospital. PML-N workers shouted anti government slogans.
