Meeting reviews situation of drought-hit Tharparkar

A meeting was held under the chairman of Divisional Commissioner Mirpurkhas Abdul Waheed Shaikh at Deputy Commissioner Office Mithi to review the situation of drought-hit of Tharparkar District regarding the health situation, drinking clean water, development work, agricultural reforms, which include Kitchen Garden, the distribution work of fodder with the support of Thar foundation, and with the help of a vitnary camp of Livestock, to ensure the treatment of animal, vaccine and other relief activities and received information related to the relief work.
The Divisional Commissioner further added that the Tharparkar is in priorities Sindh Government & the district administration's along with the help out the drought affectees of Tharparkar the relief activates continue to be made long-term and short-term plans would be made for the indecency for the people of Tharparkar.
The divisional commissioner added that the district administration will provide full support to the healthcare facilities and to resolving the problems related to the Health Divisional Commissioner Abdul Waheed Sheikh directed the authorities of the department of Livestock and the Thar Foundation to review the work of animal vaccines, treatment in Tharparkar, to initiate a quick survey for animal fodder distribution in the 25 union council of the District to ensure that the affected people are provided for animal fodder , in addition to monitor the ongoing work of distribution of fodder so that no cattle owner would be left.
The commissioner said that 3500 houses have been identified in the first phase regarding project Kitchen Garden in the district which is started with the help of Government Of Sindh Agriculture Department and World Bank.
The Divisional Commissioner has directed the relevant officers to resolve issues related to the RO plants for supplying drinking water to the people of Tharparkar, besides directing Public Health Engineers the schemes of water supply and drainage should be completed soon.
