The three-day textile and garments exhibition - IGATEX Pakistan having participation from 37 countries opened Tuesday at Karachi Expo Centre. More than 500 companies are exhibiting their products and latest technologies. IGATEX Pakistan is a pioneer exhibition being organized by the FAKT Exhibition since 2002. It is the 12th edition of this mega event.
The exhibition was inaugurated by the acting President Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) and CEO FAKT Saleem Khan Tanoli along with other dignitaries, Abbas Mooraj, officials from Turkish, Chinese Consulates, Aarij Iqbal, Asif Inam, Rafiq Kabib Godel and others.
Talking to media after inauguration, chief guest Mirza Ikhtiar Baig said that international community and investors has expressed confidence on Pakistan and a number of countries including Saudi Arabia and China are planning to invest in different sectors.
"Travel advisory for Pakistan has become better after improvement in law and order", he said and added that peace in neighboring Afghanistan will further help to further improve the economy situation.
Expo organizer, CEO FAKT Exhibitions, Saleem Khan Tanoli informed that this pioneer event is being organized every year alternatively in Karachi and Lahore. It is aimed to enhance our exports and introduce the latest technology in this sector. This will also provide more employment opportunities in Pakistan, he hoped.
He said large number of foreign companies' participation in this expo is evident of excessive opportunities in Pakistan. This mega event will benefit our industry and national economy. More than 116 Chinese exhibitors form the largest exhibitor group at the exhibition followed by 92 companies from Italy, 75 from Germany, 25 each from Japan and Switzerland. Other countries present at IGATEX 2019 are France, Belgium, Austria, Korea, United Kingdom, United States of America, Brazil, Thailand and many more, he told.
"We have country pavilions from Turkey and China. Department of Commerce of Zhejiang province in China has organised a pavilion for their best companies to showcase their machinery in textile finishing, non-wovens, spinning and garments technologies," Tanoli added.
