Buzdar announces launching of 'Air Ambulance Service'

The Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday announced that the project of 'Air Ambulance Service' is being launched for timely shifting the patients in critical conditions to hospitals. He said this while chairing a meeting at his office in which the performance of health sector was reviewed in detail.
Sources said the meeting deliberated upon the proposal of increasing the duration of employment of medical teaching faculty along with start of nightshift in nursing schools and recruitment of male nurses.
The CM asked the health authorities to ensure provision of best quality healthcare facilities to the masses, the sources said, adding: "Provision of medicines should also be ensured in government-run health institutions to the downtrodden and the hapless segments."
Addressing the meeting, Sardar Usman said that a 100-bed hospital will be started soon in the Punjab Institute of Mental Health, to treat the addicts.
He directed that Fatima Jinnah Institute of Dental Sciences should be activated and standard private rooms should be established in the government hospitals. He informed the participants that a number of laws including the medical teaching institution act are being introduced.
He said, "It is satisfying that quality healthcare facilities have been provided to the needy people through Sehat Sahulat Program."
Health minister Dr. Yasmeen Rashid said that health department will provide 30 thousand anti-rabies vaccines while the 15 thousand vaccines will be given to southern Punjab.
Moreover, while reviewing the steps taken for the eradication of dengue, the CM said that all the line departments should perform their duties with dedication and the devised plan should be fully implemented, to stop the spread of dengue.
Sardar Usman made it clear that no leniency will be tolerated with regard to eradication of dengue. It was decided to recruit the anti-dengue staff according to needs and requirements on emergent basis.
