86,381 victims rescued by 1122 in February

The Punjab Emergency Service (Rescue 1122) rescued about 86,381 victims while responding to 86,180 emergencies in the month of February across the province with an average response time of seven minutes.
Out of 86,180 emergencies, 24,170 road traffic crashes were reported in February in which 232 precious lives were lost. Rescue 1122 is responding over 850 road traffic crashes in Punjab on daily basis in which average 972 people get injured or disabled daily, a spokesman of the service said.
The emergency calls to which Rescue 1122 responded to include: 24170 road traffic accidents, 51,326 medical emergencies, 931 fire incidents, 1,712 crimes, 39 drowning incidents, 73 building collapses, 14 explosion and 7,915 miscellaneous operations.
According to the statistics, the majority of fire incidents occurred in major cities, including 211 fires in Lahore, 89 in Faisalabad, 68 Rawalpindi, 57 in Gujranwala, 66 in Multan, 22 in Sialkot, 34 in Sargodha, and 16 in DG Khan.
