Armed robbers and carjackers struck at 16 different places in the city during the last week and deprived citizens of their valuables. According to data gathered by Business Recorder here on Saturday, over nine cases of various kinds of theft and six cases of car lifting were reported to different police stations of the city during the last week.
The most 'favourite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Industrial Area, Ramna and Bhara Kahu police stations. During the last week, Industrial Area police station registered four cases of auto theft. Motor vehicle thieves stole a bike bearing registration number RIV 1320 of a citizen namely Zeeshan Ahmed, lifted a bike bearing registration number RIW 3471 of Faqeer Shabir, stole another bike bearing registration number RIW-190 of Aamir Shehzad and lifted another bike bearing registration number RIL-274 of Muhammad Usman from the jurisdiction of industrial Area police station.
Two cases of theft were reported to Bhara Kahu police station during the last week. Saleem Akhtar lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that accused Inam and others stole gate of his house, wroth Rs20,000. Another Khizer Iqbal informed Bhara Kahu police station that unknown robbers stole cash and other valuables, worth Rs99,000, from his shop.
In the same period, Ramna police registered two cases of motor vehicle theft. Auto thieves stole a car of Yasir Mehmood (IDA-9064) and stole a car (AHA-524) of Ahmed Arsla Khan. Muhammad Tanzeem informed Shehzad Town police station that accused Uzam Javed and three other stole Rs23.2 million cash from his house.
Another Muhammad Javed informed Tarnol police station that unidentified robbers stole cash in local and foreign currencies and gold ornaments from his house.
During the last week, Secretariat, Margalla and Karachi Company police stations registered one case each of robbery.
