The Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser has nominated a Parliamentary delegation under the leadership of Syed Fakhar Imam, chairman of Kashmir Committee, for participation in the 14th plenary session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC Member States (PUIC) at Rabat, Morocco from March 10-14.
Pakistan's delegation will seize the opportunity to apprise 54-Member PUIC forum of the continued violation of Pakistan's sovereignty and territorial integrity by India, which has brought the region to the brink of war and devastation.
The delegation members will also take into confidence the esteemed parliamentary colleagues from Muslim countries on the steps taken by the Parliament and government of Pakistan for ensuring peace and stability in the region in the wake of recent Indian aggression.
On instructions of the Speaker National Assembly, two resolutions have been included in the agenda items of the 14th PUIC conference. One is related to the situation in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir and second resolution on protecting Muslim women and children in the area under occupation and conflict.
They will urge the Muslim Ummah to take note of the prevailing situation in Indian occupied Jammu and Kashmir and its serious implications for international and regional peace and security. At least one hundred thousand people in Kashmir have embraced martyrdom due to Indian army atrocities. Indian army raped more than 11000 women while more than 8,000 persons have disappeared in the custody of army and state police. Said brutality of Indian forces turned wives of such Kashmiris into half widows in IOK.
