Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has announced a development package for district Kohat that include the upgrading of district headquarters hospitals, establishment of a campus of the university of engineering and technology, women campus, a museum, an industrial zone, sports grounds, beautification project and developing Thanda Dam and Kasai project on tourism lines.
He made this announcement, presiding over a meeting on the issues of district Kohat at the chief minister secretariat, here. Adviser to the Chief Minister for Elementary and Secondary Education Zia Ullah Bangash, principal secretary to the CM Shahab Ali Shah, district nazim Kohat, senior member Board of Revenue, administrative secretaries, director general Sports, commissioner Kohat, vice chancellor Kohat University, CEO WSSC, deputy commissioner Kohat, MD PHAK and others attended the meeting.
A comprehensive briefing was given to the chief minister on different development, health and education related activities in Kohat. CM Mahmood Khan directed to upgrade Kohat district headquarters hospital, to complete remaining construction work of Liaquat Memorial Hospital, to provide necessary staff for the operationalisation of all hospitals and BHUs. He also directed to immediately start working on these projects in order to create these facilities for the benefit of the people.
The KP CM directed for the overall cleanness mechanism in the hospitals. He said the social welfare building should be used for the campus of women university Kohat. He directed for immediate efforts for establishment of a campus in Kohat of the University of Engineering and Technology. He said the government land could be used for the purpose. He directed to identify the government land for museum in Kohat. He assured to establish IT Park and an industrial zone in district Kohat for which a plan has already been approved. He directed to demarcate the land among different villages of Kohat. He directed the commissioner Kohat to find out a solution to this issue through Jirga.
The KP Chief Minister assured to resolve the government land issue in Germa Kohat and provide fund for the WSSC project Kohat.
He said that tourism would be promoted in Kohat as a part of the overall policy guidelines of his government for the promotion of tourism in the province. Thanda Dam and Kasai projects would be developed for promotion of tourism in the district. He also assured a reasonable share within the WSSC Kohat for the beautification of Kohat.
